The treatment

What is Hair PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma: a concentrated preparation of the platelets and growth factors found naturally in your own blood, used in clinic as a treatment for the hair and scalp.

01

From your own blood

A small sample is taken at the clinic and spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors. Nothing synthetic is added.

02

Applied to the scalp

Dr Atefeh injects the concentrated plasma precisely into the areas of the scalp being treated, in an unhurried clinic appointment.

03

A personalised course

Hair PRP is normally a course of sessions. Whether it suits you, and what your plan looks like, is decided at your individual assessment.

In the practitioner's words

A hair loss consultation: a practitioner examines a patient's hair and scalp

I want every patient to feel properly assessed before we talk about treatment, never rushed through it. That is why I give a full Hair PRP appointment the time it needs, usually around two hours, and use products I would be happy to have used on myself.

Common questions

Answered plainly

Will I be told the price of Hair PRP?

Yes, transparent pricing is set out during your assessment, once Dr Atefeh has understood your goals and what a personalised plan for you would involve. We do not quote a generic price beforehand because every plan differs, and there is no obligation to go ahead once you have it.

How long does the appointment take?

Your initial assessment with Dr Atefeh is a focused, one to one appointment. If you go on to have Hair PRP, we typically allow around two hours for the treatment itself, more time than a quick session elsewhere, because we do not like to rush it.

Where is the clinic, and how do I get there?

Better By Ati is at 1 Buckland's Wharf, Thames Side, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 1TF. If you would rather book or ask a question by phone, you can reach the clinic on 020 3488 2229, and we will confirm your appointment time directly with you.

How do I know if Hair PRP is right for me?

The only way to know is to be assessed individually. Dr Atefeh will discuss your goals, explain how Hair PRP works, and confirm suitability in person. Results vary between patients, and suitability is never confirmed before your assessment.

Who will I see, and what happens after I book?

You will see Dr Atefeh, our GMC-registered practitioner, for your individual assessment. Once you book, we confirm your time by text. If a treatment plan is right for you, that assessment is the start of ongoing, personalised care, not a single one-off visit.
